It would be great to hear about list members success stories. You know,
what have you done so far this year in the Linux/ Open source World? We're
off to a decent start even though Linux specific projects are at best 10% of
this month's sales forcast. Hoping to increase that number anyway possible.
If anyone has a project that they'd like to collaborate on let me know.
Good Luck and I hope to hear about your successes.
New Linux Clients for 2003
#1
web Dev.
Web Server front end for transactional software. Combination of MySQL and
Proprietary Soft developed for Win NT now being ported to Win2000. It'll be
2 servers, one linux and one Windows. The Linux will be web browser and the
Win2k will host the database/transaction soft. Currently the software is
running on NT and is being updated for 2000. Any ideas on how to secure
this puppy?
#2
1-Red Hat 8.0 Server
easy one, customer installed, running nicely according to custy feedback.
#3
MySQL database with PHP front end.
Question. How do you hide the extentions and url info after a response from
a request has been returned? One possible solution I could come up with is
to have the database validate it then pass through so the returned data
doesn't show but this only protect password and id. What about general
searches?
#4
Buiding a calender and address/contacts database.
Client prefers something open source and ready made, not too complex so as
to be easily modified for future client requests. We're going to bill for
set-up and hosting. Additioanlly we will do updates and add features
according to client requests.
Anyone seen something in PHP/MySQL that fits the bill?
Hope you all have a great year and looking forward to working together.
Jeff
