[Lula-biz] Position for Linux web/DB and Win/Mac GUI developer(s)

Looking for developer(s) for 3-4 month project. The project involves
design and implementation of a SQL database (probably PostgreSQL),
development of a web-based front-end to the database, and client-side
application development for Windows and Mac (preferably using a
cross-platform toolkit such as wxWindows, Qt, or possibly Java). The
database and web site will run on Linux servers.

The servers will need to integrate with an online payment system to
handle credit card transactions, and perhaps with Paypal, so experience
with such systems, and the security implications of them, is a big plus.

This project can be split up into separate front-end and back-end
positions, or it can be filled by a single individual with the right
skill set. Most work can be done remotely, but preferably all
individuals will live in the Los Angeles area to facilitate occassional
team meetings.

The project is for a new, socially-conscious company focused on using
the Internet to make it easy for people to support environmental issues.
It was founded by a Harvard MBA with recent experience running two
startup companies and raising venture capital.
