Sweetwater.com has one of the most knowledgable staff regarding music
recording but even said that you'll need to check what sound cards have
the drivers you need. If you want a good sound card, and good price
m-audio.com has in my experience the best sounding digital converters
for the price. I read that some linux drivers are available too but no
first hand experience.

anyway. if you get it working i'd love to hear the story.....and you
might want to check w/ brian redfern cause he's actually recording his
music on a linux machine. and it sounds pretty decent.
