Location: Pasadena, CA / Long Beach, CA
Term: Full Time
Pay Rate: about $40k starting
Hours: 8:00AM - 5:00PM M-F

About Us:

  We are a company based in Pasadena, CA, but are opening a new office
in Long
Beach.  Our business is e-commerce & transaction processing.  We also do
quite
a bit of consulting (web/application design as well as back-end work),
and also
a bit of hosting and security work.  We are small but expanding very
rapidly;
our lean-and-mean approach to business has kept us alive and thriving
while
the rest of the IT industry is experiencing major recession.  We have a
strong
commitment to open source & free software and prefer someone who does as
well.
We also prefer to work quickly and efficiently for 8 hours and go home,
rather
than constantly working overtime as is common in the industry.

Job Description:

  We are looking for a technically minded person with moderate to good
programming skills, good overall technical understanding of networking
and
UNIX/Linux systems architecture. This person must be able and willing to
quickly become an expert in our product, the credit-card processing and
merchant banking industry. He or she must be able to communicate well
with
customers, other developers and the sales staff.  Duties will include
programming internal tools for Q.A. or reporting, dealing with technical
and
integration support issues with customers and supporting the sales team
on
technical issues.  There may also be some work in integrating our API
into
third party products, as well as assisting developers on consulting
projects.
This person's ability to communicate, learn new skills, and manage their
own
time are as important as technical and programming skills.

  Reliably Cover the Morning Shift (8:00am - 5:00pm)

Required Skills:

  Linux System Administration
  Competent with one or more: Perl, PHP, Python, Java
  Shell Scripting, SQL, HTML
  TCP/IP Networking, SSH
