Senior Systems Administrator

 

Responsibilities

*         Responsible for the direct administration (as part of a Team of
Unix Administrators) of all Unix servers used in Production, Development,
and/or Staging environments; including daily hands-on operation setup,
configuration, general maintenance and troubleshooting.

*         Administer the server hardware, Unix operating system and
selected system applications.

*         Responsible for assisting the Unix server users, including PHP,
Perl or SQL Developers, QA, etc., with application specific usage,
performance tuning, quality assurance, and troubleshooting.

*         Serves as primary or secondary point of contact for various
components of the Unix system. 

*         Respond to any service outage that affects the availability of
the production website.

*         Responsible for daily website usage and availability.

 

Qualifications

*         Strong problem solving and change management skills

*         Knowledge of Bash and Perl Scripting

*         Solid understanding of IP networking 

*         Grok the RedHat Linux distribution

*         Must be able to configure and run the common server daemons
providing DNS, FTP, HTTP(S), IMAP, NFS, POP3, SMTP, SSH.

*         Ability to use and administer FreeBSD a plus

*         Familiarity with IOS based Cisco products a plus

*         Familiarity with Windows a plus

*         Ability to setup OSPF and BGP routing protocols a plus
