I stumbled across an easily reproducible bug in Wine (v0.9.11) last week--
easily reproducible, that is, if you own a copy of the math package
matlab (v7.0.4; http://www.mathworks.com/). While winehq.org shows
someone was able to run this version of matlab from Wine
(http://appdb.winehq.org/appview.php?versionId=3082) there were no
details describing the person's setup. Presumably he first installed
matlab in Windows on a dual-boot machine then accessed this installation
from Linux. What I'm trying to do is install the Windows version of matlab
from Wine. Wine fails pretty quickly with an error like "Unable to find
main."

I haven't filed a Wine bug report because I figure it is a stretch
to expect Wine developers to own matlab and thus be able to reproduce
the problem.

In case you're wondering why I'm not running matlab natively in Linux--
I do that too. The code I'm currently trying to run came from many
sources, one of which supplied only a Windows DLL. -- Al
