Client is a leader in mobile entertainment, private-label search and
online directory. Their mission is to connect people everywhere with the
entertainment and information they desire - both online and on mobile
devices.

Tier 3/Release Engineer
Job Description:
 
* Systems Engineering for information analysis and processing and
archiving
* Systems health monitoring and implementing preventive measures for
maximum uptime
* Systems setup for various platforms and product deployments
* Disaster recovery for Web, WAP and Perl platforms
* Build, integrate, release and launch the software components for
server systems
* Work closely with various teams during test, defect resolution, and
launch phases of the software development and release cycle. Assist
Operations (TOC) to troubleshoot production issues
* Administration of V4 platform servers, project estimation, technical
documentation, and deployment for assigned tasks and projects
* Process automation for various routine activities
* Application troubleshooting for Web, WAP and Perl platforms
* Database administration for application data in mySQL for all
storefronts
* MySQL replication setup and maintenance for all storefront databases
for all clusters
* Cluster architecting and implementation of new and existing
applications for fault tolerance and capacity growth
* Hardware installation and maintenance for various servers
 
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
* Administer the CVS code repository
* Perform various builds of the website/distributor code, debug
compiling and build errors
* Release new website/distributor code to Q.A. and Production
* Create build scripts/utilities to deploy new code and report nightly
changes
* Maintain day-to-day operation of the RedHat Linux server environment
* User profile administration and other access controls
* Install/Update Linux server core/application software
* Maintain data files and monitors system configuration to ensure data
integrity
* Provide Systems support to the Customer/Tech. Support team
* Integration support with 3rd party clients
* Technical documentation and project estimation
* Ability to take direction from others and work well in a team
environment
* Create scripts in Bash, Perl, and other tools for various systems
administration tasks
* On call for all servers for highest level support
* Content catalogs and database management for all storefronts
 
Skills:
* Tomcat experience
* J2EE experience (Troubleshooting knowledge of JSP, Servlets and
general log deciphering)
* Shell scripting (including Perl)
* Mysql experience (strong usage/troubleshooting skills, not necessarily
from a DBA standpoint)
* Linux experience (working within a large-scale internet production
environment)
* ANT
 
Nice to have:
* Java development experience
