Configure your PC to act as a gateway.
NAT will be enabled, and set your PDA's
resolver to point to the DNS of your ISP,
or if DNS is running on your PC, to it,
and set your PDA to use the PC IP number
as a gateway.  Should work then.

I've no idea how to set up a PDA for this.
Ubuntu is Linux so use the standard method
for turning it into a gateway.  rtfm here.
