[Lula] Microsoft anti-Linux message to its partners

Hi!
about 2 yrs ago at a Gartner ITexpo conference,
of 10 technologies which corps will adopt and
that admins need to learn - one was linux.
MS was NOT on the list.
iirc - of the 10 items, 3-4 were open source
related ..
of course, this was servers... not desktop.
this was also one of the BIG main session,
not just a sidenote session.
at a number of venture cap conferences I have
been to, Open Source has been explicitely listed
as ONE of the possible key strategies for a
VC backed company to use.
I never imagined hearing this 5 years ago.
seriously, a lot has changed, and MS knows
that, thus it's FUD/arguements has dramatically
changed to ROI/TCO terms.
MS does indeed have a number of really good
unix talent on their staff.. I have meet
a number of them.. it's a part of their
strategy to move people away from unix/solaris
to MS windows servers.
