In Los Angeles, we already have #lalugs, on 24/7, & #lilax, Sundays
@ 20:00 Pacific time, both on irc.freenode.net.  Why don't you join
us there?

You didn's say what OS you're using.  xChat & others are free on
Linux, I believe there are other free ones for Windows.
