I have a Powerbook of the PPC kind and I happily run Ubuntu on it.
I would recommend it over Mac OS X really. I guess it just comes down
to the applications I use, but none of them run that well under OSX. I
guess you could buy all the proprietary equivalents, but I can't afford
the first versions and then to continually have to keep paying to
upgrade them. I guess I'm "locked in" to Open Source platforms as all
my data is in GnuCash, ODT, Gramps and other such formats.
