Heh. I know all about emotional compatibility and the Wine team. .
It has nothing to do with emotional compatibility. They suffer very very
badly from not invented here syndrome
Take for example Outlook not working under wine. Why is that? Lack of
RPC support. It could be done in around 6 months if they accepted the
fact that there approach is fundamentally flawed and creates yet another
incompatible RPC system. However they refuse to accept the fact, and
think that implementing the DLL's will be enough. However there is a lot
more involved. The FreeDCE project has done most of the work already.
(Disclaimer I am a member of that project and am good friends with its
leader Luke Cassington).
We attempted to coordinate efforts with the Wine/Reactos teams and they
looked at the work involved and decided it was better to proceed on
there own. So instead of taking 6 months to get the job done, it will
take years.
