[Lula] mail folders gone missing

Hi group,

We run our own postfix mta, and deliver mail to clients via imap. One of the
clients is me, and I have used kmail and thunderbird to access imap. Using
thunderbird I did create subfolders below INBOX.

Then I did something bad--I accessed my imap mail with outhouse express. When
I next used thunderbird (on linux), all the subfolders had disappeared--from
tbird, anyway. The folders were still on disk. Kmail still sees the
folders; I assume that's because kmail keeps a list of mail folders
under .kde/share/apps/kmail/imap.

So how does thunderbird (or evolution) keep track of imap folders and how do I
get my folders to show up again? I tried google and re-installing
thunderbird but no luck. Whaaaaa.
