Device file systems are dynamic in newer kernels. The udev project is
located at http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/utils/kernel/hotplug/udev.html
You need to add a udev rule to create the link at boot time. The details
may vary depending on your distribution and kernel (run `uname -a`).
Rules for udev are explained on the kernel.org page above.
