Brief Overview Of Position: this position is responsible for building,
maintaining, and enhancing the development, test, and production
environments. The system engineer will plan and document systems,
respond to all systems inquiries.. The system engineer will use
intelligence, scripting, and tools to manage change from development to
testing to production environments. This LRN is a  hosted software (ASP)
environment working heavily with Linux Redhat, SAN ( EMC), NAS and more.

 
Technical Skills Required: * Expert with Linux (Redhat) 9.x and Solaris
9.x * Ability to read and write administrative scripts in Perl. *
Skilled in Apache including troubleshooting, providing information to
development based on logs and system behavior, configuring plug-ins and
modules. Knowledgeable  w/Java application servers including RESIN.  *
Knowledgeable of IBM, Compaq and Sun hardware. * Experience with Version
Control Systems including Perforce. * Excellent troubleshooting and
problem-solving skills and experience. * Excellent oral and written
communication skills. * Excellent documentation skills. 
* Mod-Perl and Java Experience a plus.
