[Lula] apache-ssl dies silently

oops, sorry Peter, here is the info, and yes I googled quite a bit, but
found nothing relevant...

System Info
-----------------

Debian system
2.6.8 kernel,
apache-ssl version 1.3.33 (debian sarge)
apache (non-ssl) is also running on the same server.

I keep the SSL and non-SSL apache server separate (not using mod-ssl)

the search for '*core*' turned up nothing.....

I shoudl also say that this setup has been running as a production
server for the last year and been solid as a rock... it is only in the
last week or so that this has started happening....

I agree with you on the log thing... so annoying that it does not log
BEFORE events, as well as after...

The server is very well proceted behind a firewall, and after sniffing
around I see no sign of intrusion....

this is weird !
