Hello all LULA members. I hope this is not an unwelcome intrusion. I'm in
the process of posting a new job listing for my department and thought I'd
give you all the first crack at it.

InfoStreet is a Software as a Service (SaaS) provider. Widely regarded as
a SaaS pioneer, as early as 1994, InfoStreet began shaping a vision, a
team and a technology which is now transforming the way business gets
done.

We are looking for an energetic new team member to take on the role of
Junior System Administrator. In this position, you will:

- Assist in design, development, and deployment of datacenter
  server installations.
- Work closely with members of the Operations team to react to system
  outages and problems.
- Work with the support team to schedule customer downtimes and upgrades.
- Monitor, maintain, and manage a wide range of Linux servers and
  complex networks.

This is an ENTRY-LEVEL position. We are considering candidates of all
experience levels. Specific training on unfamiliar topics will be provided
by our Operations team. The technology you will be working with includes:

- Linux (RedHat and CentOS)
- OpenBSD and FreeBSD
- Apache Webserver, mod_python
- MySQL database server, MySQL-Cluster
- Courier IMAP and Dovecot
- Qmail, Postfix, and Sendmail
- SpamAssassin, BitDefender, and ClamAV
- NFS and GFS
- BIND named
- Nagios and Munin
- Alteon load balancers
- HP Procurve switches

Any experience with the above technologies is a plus.

The most important qualities we are looking for in a candidate:

- Eagerness to learn new technology.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt under pressure.
- Ability to collaborate with a team.
- Ability to self-manage tasks and be proactive in contributing talents.
- Strong work ethic.

Specific requirements:
- Rotating after-hours on-call pager duty required.
- Must be able to lift and rack-mount heavy (150lbs+) servers as needed.
- Must be comfortable with regular commutes from the Tarzana office to the
  Downtown Los Angeles datacenter as needed.
- Occasional (fully paid) cross-country travel required.
