I want to reply with a "me too", but add something in...

I was reading an article about a guy who was scanning all his bills to 
PDF, and there was an OCR program that would add the text into the PDF, 
while keeping the display of the PDF as a bitmap.  This way search engines 
like Beagle could index it, but you'd still see the full image.  Of 
course, the software wasn't free, I'd love to do this at home with 
something like gOCR, but I'm curious if anyone has gotten it to work.
