Well, I'm glad you waved me off that board. I ended up going with an
Asus M2NPV-VM, Athlon 64 x2 4600, and 1G of cheapo
DDR2-667. Installation was a breeze, and it's super-fast.

The cost was a little more than I wanted to pay, about $270 after tax
for all three components. Fry's was charging significantly more for
the board than I could have gotten it online, and they didn't have any
slower x2 processors. But, as long as it keeps doing what it's doing
now, I'm happy with it.
