Right, or maybe you were smoking crack at some point during the whole
exercize.
Here's what I would suggest: write a shell script that automates
the check, using wget and md5sum (and what the heck, sha1sum).
Run it again on all your computers just to be sure.
If the problem persists, start doing fun stuff like building
an exact duplicate of the offending computer and
see if that also has the problem. If not, then start swapping parts...
