[Planning] New server stuff

So, for those of you who haven't read your LULA mail yet:
http://www2.lula.org/pipermail/lula/2006-January/005103.html
(www.lula.org should work, but www2.lula.org will definitely work)
For the record, the old host can be reached at old.lula.org.
Some planning points on this matter:
1) The old server is still running DNS. It's set up as a slave of new
server.
2) The old server has a lot of accounts, DNS secondaries, etc. on it.
Basically a lot of cruft. If there is any cruft from the old server that
you'd like to see on the new server, now is most definitely the time to
speak up and/or do something.
3) I think we need to update the whois information. Right now that's
still controlled by Clay. I haven't heard back from him about this.
Anyone else feel like handling responsibility for this?
4) Right now our DNS is through Kenwood's servers, which is kind of
strange as it is, because I didn't see anything resembling acl's
limiting transfers to their servers...
5) We have still not got any spam filtering set up on the server. Based
on how much spam I get through lula.org, and how much I saw in the logs
on the old machine. I'm tempted to revist this policy. Thoughts?
6) We have a lot of list members who have had mail delivery disabled.
Probably as many as half our members. Some have had this status for
quite some time. I'm wondering if it makes sense to do some "spring
cleaning" of the list.
7) At some point I want to shut down DNS on the old box. The config
isn't super secure, and of course that box is getting a tad flakey in
general. So, anyone who's using the box as a secondary should stand up
now and do something about it.
8) Right now the old server does not have any smtp daemon running. I
think it's been used as a backup MX for mutt.org (possibly others). If
so, that configuration needs to be moved to the new server (perhaps
after the IP has been changed)... probably sooner rather than later.
There's probably a few other things I'm forgetting, but I'm tired. ;-)
