Instead of looking for "topics" do look for "speakers" and
let them choose the topic.  I've found that is easier than
finding for a topic a speaker.  Of course, making a list of
topics is easier than making a list of speakers.

I agree that posting a "Speaker Solicitation" to the user 
list is a good idea to find speakers.  Last time I did that
I got 2 speakers within the week.  Short notice for some
speakers works out.

Repeating topics done years ago is also possible.
Updates are appreciated.
